A passionate and provocative love story about looking beneath the surface.
(Yeeeah. I got that from the website. Check here.)
So I finished another book today, and I think that I can finish my books-to-read list before summer ends. Yey me! So what I've read today is Perfect Chemistry written by Simone Elkeles. And here's what the story all about:
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more. In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.Yes, I am an 18-yr-old-girl-who-loves-to-relive-her-first-love-experience-through-YA-books. Though this book didn't exactly explain mine. But it's the.... God it frustrates me that I can't explain it to you. The book the really hit me on-the-spot with the first love experience is "Love The One You're With" by Emily Giffin. Seriously guys, read it and I think you'll understand why I acted like 'that' half of my high school life.
Anywaaaaaaaaay........
It's the modern star-crossed lovers thing! Haha! I swear the last three books I've read has something to do about THAT kind of love -- from the Mockingjay, The Fault in Our Stars and, this, Perfect Chemistry. This book is really fun to read! Anticipation eats you up, mostly. It's predictable and unpredictable at the same time. Huh. I can't seem to explain this properly. Hahaha! It's like Pretty In Pink meets West Side Story! Yes, that's it! Thankfully, Simone wrote a sequel to this and I'm going to read tonight. Yes, I love books.
And if you ever wonder, yes, I fell for another fictional character -- again. Alex Fuentes. Oh bad habit, leave me alone.

"It reminds me of myself -- seemingly perfect on the outside, but inside is all mush."
"You know you can do more, but everyone expects you to quit."
"But this guy, smack dab in the middle of everything I'm against, is connected to me like nobody else."
"I want to know how to make this girl laugh. I want to know what makes her cry. I want to know what it feels to have her look at me as if I'm her knight in shining armor."
